Klimax

The most sophisticated and original of timba bands, Klimax is a project created by Giraldo Piloto, descendant of a long line of famous Cuban composers and musicians. Piloto was founding member of the first timba musical group, NG La Banda, and when the Charanga Habanera was thrust to stardom, it was he who composed their first hit: "Me Sube la Fiebre".

When Isaac Delgado left NG to form his own group, Piloto acted as their musical director and wrote many of their songs, including the song that was most likely their most important, "No me mires a los ojos".

In January of 1995, after eight years of being the epicenter of the timba, Piloto decided to form his own conjunto and in April of that same year Klimax performed for the first time at the famous disco La Cecilia de la Avenida Quinta, thus beginning a consistent musical career, made evident throughout the band’s records.
