Manolito y su Trabuco
Manolito Simonet was musical director and
pianist of Maravilla de Florida before forming Trabuco in
the mid-nineties. The group comprises a unique instrumentation
made up of a violin, cello, flute, two trumpets and two trombones,
as well as a synthesizer, piano, congas,
bass and the overwhelming energy of the drummer, Rociel Riverón.
The singing is exquisite thanks to the services of the incomparable
Sixto "El Indio" Llorente, ex Klimax
Carlos Calunga, and singer and composer Ricardo Amaray. The
five records include the magnificent Rosendo "El Gallo"
Díaz’s participation, musician who is currently
member of the Revé Orchestra.
Those who love traditional Cuban music and think the timba
is too modern for their taste will find what they are looking
for in Manolito. He combines the authentic aroma of the son
with the wild African fury of the timba in such a way that
will leave them satisfied
