Tito Nieves
Born in Puerto Rico but raised in the States,
Tito Nieves (Humberto Nieves) began his career participating
in Cimarrón, an orchestra based in New York. He then
formed a group with Héctor
Lavoe in 1977 and joined Conjunto Clásico soon
after. Tito Nieves decided to embark on his soloist career
in 1986, differentiating himself by singing salsa in English.
His song "I like it like that" was on the top of
the charts in 1997.
