Tony Vega
Puerto Rican singer Tony Vega started out
in music participating in a teenage rock band called City
Trash. Nevertheless, the young musician was finally captivated
by the Afro-Caribbean rhythms, especially tropical music,
joining Raphy Levitt’s band La Selecta and working with
Willie Rosario soon after.
In 1986, Tony Vega moved to New York and together with Louie
Ramírez recorded an album called "Super Ganda";
later he played with Eddie
Palmieri. After singing for RMM, "Yo me quedo"
was his soloist debut album. In 1996, Tony Vega participated
in the Tropical Tribute to the Beatles, in "Hey Jude"
and "Come together".
