Willy Chirino
By amalgamating traditional Cuban music, and
North American rock and jazz, singer and band leader Willie
Chirino created what is known as the "Sonido Miami"
in Salsa. Among the artists that have sung his songs are Raphael,
Ricardo Montaner, Rocio Jurado, Celia
Cruz, Oscar D'León,
Angela Carrasco and Jorge Muniz.
Chirino also composed the main theme songs for soap operas
such as "La Zulianita" and "Pobre Diabla".
