Havana

The nicest discovery of your trip will be the city itself. With its architecture, street-lanes and famous promenades, in addition to the vast history of its city-centre, you will be put under a spell. Havana is one of the oldest and appealing cities of the western hemisphere.

The scenery of the original part of the city located next to the harbor is full of narrow lanes, antique houses with their suspended balconies and colonial architecture. But there are also beautiful parks, plazas and celebrated streets like the famous Calle Obispo in Havana to fascinate you.

Havana’s nightlife - Hemingway

Havana’s nightlife shouldn’t be understated in any way, since it easily rivals the nightlife offered by many leading American cities.

Where else can you sit in a place where once great Hemingway, Salvador Allende and Fidel Castro himself, sipped their Daiquiris and Mojitos. Hemingway was a permanent resident in the Hotel Ambos Mundos. You can still visit his room number 511, which is kept in its original state with a typewriter and an empty bottle of whisky.

Havana with its vast historical and cultural diversities, comes with a 20 km long beach-side out of 47 km long coast, ideal for diving and deep sea fishing.

Cienfuegos

The city Cienfuegos is situated at the “Bahia de Cienfuegos”, the harbor to the Caribbean Sea. Due to its beneficially strategic location, the city was used by pirates to board Spanish ships for a long time.

Not until the second half of the 18th century, when the Spanish citizens finally built a fortress at the bay, were they in a position to fight back the pirates. Cienfuegos’ former richness was largely due to its flourishing sugar industry, and that is why so many spectacular buildings were built by the sugar barons at the end of 19th century.

Even today you can marvel at the elegance of numerous buildings such as Palacio del Valle which offers you an amazing view of the bay. The city of Cienfuegos is an ideal starting point for trips and tours of its surroundings. Worth mentioning is the Hanabanilla reservoir at the Escambray Mountains, as well as the 90 ha big botanical garden “Jardín Botánico Soledad” located 25 km away from the city.

Trinidad

The city of Trinidad rightfully deserves to be listed as one of Cuba’s main attractions whether because of its colorfully painted houses, or the old and bulky cobblestone pavement located in the upper northern part of the city, forbidden for car use. Walking through the streets surrounding Plaza Mayor, you can marvel at a variety of architectural details of the colonial style.

Famous are the high windows with their ornate wooden grates called rejas with a primary function to connect the life of the streets with the houses, and not to separate the two!

Around the Plaza Mayor considered to be one of the most elegant places in Cuba, are the palaces which belonged to the richest families of Trinidad: the Iznagas, the Ortiz and the Brunete, whose palaces are museums nowadays.
